I bought my home in Annapolis, Maryland in June, 1996. The garden was a blank slate. My home backs up to woods and the deer have become a bigger problem over the years as development in the area has affected their habitat. Therefore, many of my choices for my shady plot have been influenced by my realization that I must share my garden with wildlife.

Even after a relatively mild winter, daffodils always let me know that spring has arrived.

Jill, I have read down this far and must say that your garden is lavishly beautiful. Sorry about the deer problem.
You have much more blooming earlier than I do, this is zone 6a. I am wondering what zone you are in there?
