Daylilies!

It's daylily time!
New Dawn is above, Happy Returns above right and Buck's Choice below right are in bloom. Uncle Bill gave me the Buck's Choice from his Buck's County, PA garden.

Fawns!

The new arrivals are already little troublemakers. Here they are nibbling on my grass and checking out the sprinkler. Too bad I wasn't in position to turn it on.

My Trader Joe's orchid is blooming just in time for my vacation to Portugal. I spent the day arranging my pots and setting up my sprinkler system. I now have 7 timers!

Hon Fest

Nine Hons from Annapolis graced the HonFest with our presence. Pics of the day are here.

HonFest is a local tradition. The Bawlmer term of endearment, Hon, short for Honey, embodies the warmth and affection bestowed upon our neighbors and visitors alike by historic working-women of Baltimore. HonFest is an anual celebration in honor of these women.

I have struggled to take a decent picture of the Oak Leaf Hydrangea. Here is my best effort so far. The Eenie Weenie Daylily is pictured also.

This morning I saw the new crop of fawns. I only saw two so far. I didn't get a picture yet.

Hydrangeas Bloom

The Hydrangeas have started to bloom. The Lacecap on the left was a gift from my former neighbor Sue Kramer. The Endless Summer in on the right and the Oak Leaf is below the others.

STELLA (d'oro) has made an appearance. I ran around yesterday spraying Liquid Fence because some of the buds went missing. Grrrr. Of course we had an unexpected storm wash it off, so I will be back spraying again soon.

June Begins

My neighbor's roses are in full bloom. There must be a million of them. It is a little wild over there so I'm just showing a gorgeous bloom. My Japanese Iris "Rising Sun" are peaking and an Asiatic Lily is starting to bloom. It isn't my favorite, but pretty none the less.

Just Waiting

This Begonia survived a winter in the basement and came out blooming. It didn't even bloom at all last year. Who knew the basement would help a plant to bloom?

The Hydrangeas are about to bloom. This one is "Endless Summer" and the buds are just starting to open. I am most excited about my Oak Leaf Hydrangea. In its 4th year it has finally gotten past the easy deer munching size and is full of blooms. In the past the deer have eaten the new growth that produces the blooms.
